OUR HERITAGE

Elk Creek Church was formally founded in 1813. The first meeting house was a frame structure erected on the land conveyed by the Henry Harris family. The deed states” land on which the said meeting house now stands….for all and duly ministers of the gospel of every denomination to preach in.” In 1848, the Thomas Harris family conveyed a second parcel of land “on which a meeting house is about to be erected.” The old frame church was torn down and sold to the highest bidder. Today, The stately 1848 structure with several additions is nestled in a wooded area off Kentucky Springs Road near the waters of Lake Anna. This colonial church is much revered by its founding families, the church members and the Lake Anna Community.

OUR MISSION

We believe that our mission is to serve the spiritual needs of our membership and minister to the Elk Creek community. Guided in faith and practice by the Holy Scriptures and led by the Spirit of God, we seek to aid others in knowing Christ as Savior and Lord. We want to equip and motivate one another to live the abundant Christian life. It is our aim to please Christ, who loved us and gave Himself for us, enjoy this community of faith and reach out beyond the walls of the church to a world in need.
